We recently read an article about a dent repair scam company who was taking money up front for mobile dent repair and other related services and then never completing the work. This was going on out in Arizona in Maricopa county.
The mobile dent repair company was operating under two different names: “Dent Doctor” and “Auto Body Repair” and has been targeting towns and communities with a large population of elderly residents. They will prey on people who have vehicles with dents or minor body damage and solicit either half or full upfront payment for repairs.
They have also been known to do some superficial work on a car, but then create an excuse to leave the area and never return.
Always be aware of somebody soliciting you on the street for dent repair. If they can’t produce to you some kind of website or credentials, then make sure to leave the conversation and don’t talk to them. It is not worth even getting an estimate because they will make you an offer you can’t refuse and then you will lose hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars.
As of this moment, we do not know of any dent repair scams going on in Pittsburgh. As soon as we know of any, we will post an article about it.
